Interest in integrative psychiatry has exploded in the last few years. Sadly, little formal training exists by psychiatrists to prepare mental health professionals for day to day practice. This Fall, a group of experienced integrative psychiatrists led by Scott Shannon, MD, will present a practical 3 day program that will be supplemented by pre-conference webinars and post-conference mentoring. 29 hours of CME has been granted by the University of Colorado for this program. www.psychiatrymasterclass.com
The program is built in three phases:
To maximize the educational value of this program, attendance is limited to to 30 individuals. Applications will be reviewed on a first come first served basis. We fully expect this program to fill very quickly given the pent up demand.
Target Audience:
This seminar is designed for the psychiatrist or mental health professional with some background in this field. This is not an introductory program. We will develop a remedial guided program to help prepare the less experienced at a later time. We would encourage any beginners to read the course textbook, watch all of the webinars and complete the other assigned readings before attending the seminar at a minimum. The focus of the program will be in the management of patients with an integrative/holistic approach. To qualify you must be a licensed health care professional-typically a psychiatrist, PA, psychiatric-NP or possibly an ND.
Meet the Psychiatry MasterClass Faculty
Collectively, our faculty has 85 years of experience in integrative psychiatry/holistic medicine. Our backgrounds are complementary: children/adolescents, adults, geriatrics, functional medicine, holistic medicine, acupuncture, micronutrients, mind-body medicine, hormonal interventions, nutritional medicine, technological tools, practice management, metabolic assessment, herbal medicine, gut health and a wide range of other interests. Our training and certifications are broad and relevant. But the most relevant facet is that we have been practicing using these tools, full time for decades. We are not offering a review of the research and theory. This is hard earned experience from the trenches.
