In Memory of Dr. Robert Fleming

Dr. Robert Fleming 1918-2012

With sadness we announce that Dr. Robert Fleming ND passed away on January 22, 2012. Dr. Fleming was one of the champions of naturopathic medicine. In 1956, he started practice and joined the BCNA when there were only 6 members. He was active for over 25 years in the BCNA, holding positions of secretary, treasurer and registrar. Dr. Fleming and his wife Ann were responsible for founding CNERS (now the Canadian Naturopathic Foundation) in 1987 in honour of Dr. Joe Boucher ND. Dr. Fleming stayed active with CNERS until he retired in 2000. After his retirement Dr. Fleming followed developments within the profession thanks to regular visits from his niece Cindy Franklin.

Dr. Fleming’s funeral will be held January 31, 2012 at the Shepherd Church, 2250 150th St. Surrey, BC. A reception will follow. If you are planning to attend the reception, please advise Dr. Gerry Farnsworth ND by January 28 at drgrfarnsworth@shaw.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Naturopathic Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made at www.ExploreYourHealth.ca or mailed to the CNF office at 20 Holly St. #200, Toronto, ON M4S 3B1.
