Topic: HR 3204: The Drug Quality & Security Act The Provisions of the Law and the Potential Impact on Patients and Providers
Presented by: Mike Corrado – Marketing Consultant for Civic Center Pharmacy
Mike is a member of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. He was among 400 Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Marketing Reps who stormed Capitol Hill last June to protect access to Compounds for Patients and Providers.
Mike has experience as a Primary Care, Hospital, Dermatology and Rheumatology Specialty Representative for Hoechst Roussel Pharmaceuticals, Merck and Amgen dating back to 1989. He has been the Marketing Consultant for Civic Center Pharmacy for the past 8 years.
Meeting Attendees will hear:
-Highlights of the major provisions of HR 3204
-Compare & Contrast the 2 types of Compounders it creates
-A review of upcoming new regulations regarding what can and cannot be compounded
-Discussion of Office-Supply/prescription-only regulations, interstate sales and re-selling of compounds.
-Brief review of the U.S. Pharmacopeia and National Formulary and how they provide the basis for what may be compounded in the future.
-A call to action to petition the FDA to allow certain medications to be compounded in the future.
