Stand for Health Freedom Launches National Fluoride Toolkit to Empower Citizens in 48 States – Water Should Hydrate, Not Medicate

May 2025 – Indianapolis, IN — Stand for Health Freedom (SHF) has launched a powerful new resource to support local and state advocates working to end public water fluoridation across the United States. With 48 states still adding fluoride to their water systems, this initiative offers step-by-step guidance, policy guidance, educational tools, and advocacy support to citizens ready to take action.

The Fluoride Toolkit is now available at standforhealthfreedom.com/battles-ahead/fluoride, offering a practical roadmap for engaging local officials, speaking at public meetings, and rallying communities around informed consent and health freedom.

The toolkit includes:

  • A 10-step advocacy plan to help remove fluoride at the city or county level
  • Sample emails to educate legislators and decision-makers
  • Downloadable resources to share with neighbors, parents, and health professionals
  • Public comment strategies and outreach tools
  • A detailed map showing each state’s fluoridation policy (mandates, home rule, or bans)
  • Educational videos, expert interviews, and real-life testimony footage

While SHF just successfully helped pass a fluoride ban in the state of Florida, this toolkit was simultaneously developed to empower citizens in other states to follow Florida’s lead. SHF is already working with partners in Louisiana and Pennsylvania on statewide fluoride bans and is preparing campaigns in Indiana, Georgia, California, Iowa, and Tennessee, with more states on deck throughout the year.

“Fluoridating public water is a form of mass medication without individual consent,” said SHF Executive Director Leah Wilson. “Whether or not people agree on the science, everyone should agree on the right to choose. This toolkit helps everyday citizens reclaim that right.”

With this release, SHF calls on advocates, parents, healthcare professionals, and civic leaders in all 48 fluoridating states to join the movement. It starts by knowing your state’s legal and policy standing—and taking steps to create change at the local level.
