Kamedis Establishes U.S. Naturopathic Scientific Advisory Committee
Committee to be led by Dr. Michael Traub to influence scientific advancement, regulation and research & development
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – Oct. 8, 2013 – Kamedis Bio-Herbal Skin Care today announced it has established a new Naturopathic Scientific Advisory Committee in the United States, which will be chaired by Michael Traub, ND, DHANP, CCH, FABNO. The panel brings together naturopathic doctors and other experts from across the country to spearhead actions and activities in the United States to drive scientific advancement of naturopathic solutions, legislation and regulation and aid in research and development initiatives.
“Kamedis is a global organization that is leading a sea change in terms of how to approach skin care from an herbal perspective,” Dr. Traub said. “This committee will include thought leaders in the naturopathic profession. The objective will be to support research and development and help educate and inform naturopathic professionals and consumers about herbal approaches to overcoming challenges associated with common chronic skin conditions.”
Dr. Traub is the former President of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) and was the first contemporary naturopathic physician to be appointed to a hospital staff: North Hawaii Community Hospital. He is a frequent industry speaker and prolific writer, having authored the textbook, “Essentials of Dermatological Diagnosis and Integrative Therapeutics.” In addition, he has authored dozens of articles for magazines and peer-reviewed journals. Throughout his career, Dr. Traub has held numerous other leadership positions within the naturopathic profession, from chairman of the Hawaii Board of Naturopathic Medicine to president of the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians. He also served as president of the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners. Since 1986, Dr. Traub has been director of an integrated health care center (Ho‘o Lokahi) in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. He is currently an adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University, National College of Natural Medicine, Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and the University of Minnesota.
Among other renowned experts, the Naturopathic Scientific Advisory Committee will also include Holly Lucille, ND, RN who is known in the industry as “Dr. Holly.” An acclaimed expert in the field of integrative medicine, Dr. Holly lectures throughout the nation on a variety of natural health topics. Her appearances include national media programs and networks including Dr. Oz, The Doctors, Lifetime Television for Women, Montel Williams, PBS’s Healing Quest, The Hallmark Channel and Discovery Fit & Health channel and is also regularly quoted as an expert in both consumer and peer journals. In 2007, Dr. Holly was listed in Time Magazine’s “Alt List” as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People”. In 2012 she launched her own talk show “Myth-Defying with Dr. Holly” on the Veria Living network and is the host of “The Dr. Holly Lucille Show” show on RadioMD. She maintains her private practice in the Los Angeles area.
