Please read this message carefully and download our application package, below.
Background
Health Fusion is the National Conference of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. Held every second year, Health Fusion attracts naturopathic doctors from across Canada and provides them with the opportunity to interact with knowledge leaders in the profession. Presenters at Health Fusion come from Canada and around the world to deliver some of the highest quality continuing medical education available. Topics are leading-edge and encompass current thinking while at the same time being practical in nature.
Conference Focus
Naturopathic doctors are treating a rapidly growing patient population with diverse needs. Therefore, Health Fusion 2015 will focus on all aspects of family medicine.
Feedback from our prior conference attendees indicates sessions providing new skills and knowledge, which can be taken directly from the conference and applied immediately in their day-to-day practices, are of great value. As a result, our priority is to deliver clinically relevant skills and knowledge to our delegates.
Call for Abstracts
Abstract submissions are now being requested from naturopathic doctors and other regulated health care professionals for consideration for Health Fusion 2015.
Topics should relate to family medicine and be new and leading-edge or reflect recent advances and current thinking. An emphasis on practical skills and tools from both a diagnostic and treatment perspective is encouraged.
Length of Sessions
All sessions will be 90 minutes in length and in the following formats:
Standard Presentation – These sessions will be approx. 60 minutes in length followed by a Question & Answer component of approx. 30 minutes duration. The Committee requests that Abstracts for a Standard Presentation reflect a quantity and quality of information to fit a 60-minute time frame.
Interactive -These sessions will be interactive with a focus on practical skills that can be transferred directly back to a clinic setting by conference attendees. The Committee requests that Abstracts for an Interactive Session contain a quantity and quality of learning material to fit a 90-minute time frame.
Previous presentation experience is not a pre-requisite for presenting at Health Fusion. Should a naturopathic doctor feel they have relevant practical knowledge or skills to share, but is reluctant to submit an abstract due to a concern about presentation skills experience, the Health Fusion Committee would like to encourage them to make a submission. Should their abstract be selected for the conference, assistance with presentation skills will be provided.
Please Note: Health Fusion 2015 will also feature research oriented sessions. A separate call for Research Specific Abstracts will be made in early 2015.
