The New York Association of Naturopathic
Physicians 2010 Awards Announced.

New York City – On Wednesday, November 10, 2010, recognized as the elite leaders of natural medicine practice and thought in New York State, the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians (NYANP) congratulated those who deserve special recognition in naturopathic health care and service to the naturopathic community.
Award recipients were:

Physician of the Year: Ed Murach, ND, LAc
Sponsor of the Year: Thorne Research
Contributor of the Year: Sharon Stills, ND
President’s Award: Sam Schikowitz, ND, LAc

Dr. Murach, originally from Brooklyn, practices in New York City and is known for his gentle version of naturopathy, combining powerful natural healing modalities with sensitivity and elegance.
The nutraceutical company Thorne Research and Dr. Sharon Stills have been named for their continual support of the NYANP through both action and donation.

Dr. Schikowitz, a past board member, has recently gone above and beyond the call in contributing to legislative activities to move the licensing effort to fight for licensing in New York State. Sixteen other states, three districts and four Canadian provinces have similar licensing laws for naturopathic doctors.

For more information on naturopathic medicine, education, and licensing efforts — or to set up interviews with Naturopathic Doctors, sponsoring legislators or satisfied patients, please call the NYANP at 800-846-6778 or visit www.NYANP.org.
