Call to Action: Modernizing ND Healthcare in CT (HB5334)

Naturopathic News

Please take action now!

Ginger Nash, ND

Many patients over the years have asked me for more help than I am able to provide given our antiquated licensing law in CT. Naturopathic doctors in Connecticut are currently trying to modernize the law and we have a bill (HB5334) under consideration in the Public Health Committee today!

We need support from the many people we treat and it will make a huge difference if you could write a short email to your legislators. The link below will walk you right through the creation of an email. It truly takes 2-3 minutes! Please encourage your family members and friends to do the same. We need thousands of voices to be heard on this issue and it will make a tremendous impact in Hartford.

HERE’S THE LINK:  (http://www.congressweb.com/AANP/31) to send an email to the Public Health Committee (PHC).

Here is some sample text you can add if you so desire:
I ask you to support HB 5534 AN ACT CONCERNING THE PRACTICE OF NATUROPATHY.  I firmly believe it is time to update the 90 year-old scope of practice for CT Naturopathic physicians.  An updated scope of practice for Naturopathic Physicians will provide many more primary care services and be a huge benefit to the citizens of CT.  Other states that license Naturopathic physicians have allowed prescriptive drug authority for years and the overall safety record in excellent.  Lastly, this modernized scope of practice will significantly support and strengthen the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine program which is the only one East of the Mississippi.  The UB Naturopathic Medicine program will prosper and grow as a result of the passage of this law.  Lastly, passage will allow the UB clinics that see 25+ thousand patients per year provide many more primary care services to the poor and needy that frequent those clinics.

Please feel free to forward this email on to anyone you know in support of natural medicine and who may help us!
