NCNM Post-Graduate Certificate in Botanical Medicine Information Session
June 1, 2011
NCNM’s new Graduate Certificate in Botanical Medicine provides a foundation of knowledge that bridges the knowledge and clinical uses gap for interested health care providers. Especially urgent is the need to address safety and efficacy. Common uses of herbs will be discussed as well as their potential for interactions with pharmaceutical medicines. The integration of traditional herbal wisdom and modern scientific knowledge will be a centerpiece in a comprehensive health care model.
The Certificate in Botanical Medicine is clinically focused and designed for acupuncturists, chiropractors, osteopaths, pharmacists, medical doctors, midwives, naturopathic doctors, nurse practitioners and other health care providers who wish to provide practical, accurate and up-to-date information about the safe and appropriate recommendations of herbal medicines to their clients and patients.
The certificate consists of six courses (15 credits and 180 hours) offered at the NCNM campus in Portland, Oregon. The program is designed to be completed in two years and is structured to accommodate working professionals.
