An Ounce of Prevention: A Functional Approach to Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Date/Time: Wednesday, April 20 at 4 PM MT/ 3 PM PT
Speaker: Todd Robinson, ND, FABNO
Description: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has an estimated global prevalence of 25% [i]. Pharmaceutical interventions for NAFLD are limited, and liver transplantation is the primary treatment for decompensated patients. A functional approach to NAFLD may improve patient health and, in so doing, reduce burden on the organ transplantation system.
This webinar reviews the pathophysiology of NAFLD and provides an evidence-based exploration of natural therapeutics for addressing its root causes.
Goals and Objectives
- understand the pathophysiology (and nomenclature) of NAFLD
- understand the diagnosis of NAFLD with emphasis on non-invasive techniques
- implement natural medicines to reduce risk of liver transplantation
