WOODSTOCK, IL— Since its inception, Ortho Molecular Products has been a strong proponent of naturopathic medicine. This year marks the company’s fifth year as a supporter of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM), one of seven accredited naturopathic medical schools in North America. “We want to see a big change in medicine. Partnering with an organization committed to teaching doctors a different paradigm of medicine is an important investment for us,” said Aaron Bartz, president of Ortho Molecular Products.
According to the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges, the number of licensed naturopathic physicians has more than tripled in the past 10 years and is expected to climb. The association credits this rise to increased patient interest in an alternative or complement to conventional medicine. Bartz said he is confident in the profession’s staying power and that Ortho Molecular Products will continue to support it.
“The doctors who graduate from SCNM look at patients differently. They are skilled at finding the root cause and looking at each patient as a whole person to develop the appropriate protocol. That is the type of medicine we want to be a part of, and that is where the transformation of medicine will occur,” Bartz said.
