Cranio-Sacral Therapy II
November 18, 2011 - November 20, 2011
You will perform a full assessment of the lesion patterns in the cranial and fascial structures utilizing the membrane system of the head. A full set of techniques will be introduced and practiced to address the lesion patterns for each bone in the cranium and face. You will also perform techniques to identify and treat patterns that cross the cranial and fascial membrane boundaries. Additionally, you will identify the lesion patterns that extend into the intra-oral cavity and perform corrections, including restrictions to the mandible and TMJ. There will also be a short introduction to the treatment of children and special-needs populations.
The seminar includes a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Massage therapists licensed in Washington can earn their Intra-oral Endorsement at the conclusion of the class by requesting the form from the instructor. The general public can use the techniques on friends and family members. Healthcare professionals can use techniques from Levels I and II in their practice, as well as take all three levels to pursue the optional certification process. If you need a brush-up on your skills after taking this seminar, you may retake it in the future for a reduced fee of $175.
Upon completion of this seminar you will be able to:
- Discuss the differences between open, fixed, and compressed sphenoid lesion patterns.
- Describe the movements associated with each sphenoid lesion pattern.
- Feel lesion patterns of the sphenoid and occipital bones.
- Demonstrate the movement of the vomer and ethmoid bones in relation to the sphenoid bone.
- Differentiate between how to treat infants and how to treat adults.
- Differentiate between how to treat adults and how to treat the elderly.
- Differentiate between how to treat adults and how to treat the elderly.
- Differentiate between central and peripheral lesions of the bones of the intraoral cavity.
- Demonstrate how to treat the mandible in relation to the TMJ.
- Assess the role of the palatine bones in relation to the sphenoid.
- Assess the role of the vomer in relation to the sphenoid.
