Infant Massage Educator Certification Training
August 13, 2011 - August 16, 2011
Take your first steps toward becoming a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) approved by Infant Massage USA (IMUSA) and the International Association for Infant Massage (IAIM, Sweden). Educators of infant massage lead group and private classes for parents & caregivers in how to massage their babies and children.
You’ll learn infant massage strokes, infant cues and communication, the research on and clinical benefits of infant massage, group facilitation and teaching skills, touch approaches for the growing child and adaptations for the baby with special needs. Certification qualifies the student to demonstrate and guide parents and caregivers in the practical application of infant massage.
Trainers, educators & students use baby dolls to practice and demonstrate strokes. This is not a hands-on-baby course. However, the course includes a live parent/baby class in which students observe and practice teaching with excellent supervision and opportunity for evaluation. An open book, take home exam is also included.
Audience: This International Association of Infant Massage approved certification workshop is designed for students 18 years or older who want to promote nurturing touch and communication between parents, families, caregivers and their infants and children. Because this is not a hands-on baby course, students do not need to be licensed to touch.
Certification: Instuctor is committed to assisting in the certification process for each student. Certification is internationally recognized by the title Certified Educator of Infant Massage. To be certified, student must complete the full 4-day course, fulfill verified practicum hours and successfully complete the exam.
