Inspired Designs for Gardens Large & Small

September 24, 2011

Whether on the stage, television or radio, Karen Chapman’s aim is always to inspire, educate and share the fun of gardening with her audience. Enjoy her spectacular PowerPoint presentation on how to create stunning plant combinations and vignettes in your garden. Discover how professionals use color cues and texture in garden design – combining plants, furniture, fabrics and accessories. Using these techniques Karen will then demonstrate how to “plant up” two unique container gardens that will continue to look fabulous until spring. Finally, she will give you an inspirational look at some of her other designs. The beautiful photography and new ideas will give you confidence to create the garden of your dreams, no matter how large or small the space. Includes a packet of handouts with bucket loads of information!

At the end of the seminar, you will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction to bid on Karen’s two container gardens. Minimum bid is $35.00 per container (valued at $100 for materials alone). The container gardens must be taken home at the end of the seminar.

Upon successful completion of the seminar you will be able to:

  • Describe the color cues of plants and how to use them.
  • Design great plant combinations and vignettes using color echoes, contrast, texture and form – both in the landscape and container gardens.
  • Design and plant container gardens for fall and winter.
