When faced with a diagnosis of a condition, parents of infants and young children often experience significant stress and feelings of uncertainty. Parents have to deal with complex information and make treatment decisions with their NDs. To facilitate the delivery of patient-centered care, this program is designed to show NDs how to communicate information drawn from clinical trials and translate the findings into patient friendly form. This will lower the stress level embedded in communication between NDs & patients may lead to better health outcomes.
Using clinical trials in support of the use of probiotics in paediatrics, the program will focus on translating the findings into patient friendly format that facilitates communication and management of patient expectations.
The program reviews strategies to reduce stress based on complex communication with patients. As a platform it uses the literature in support of the use of strain-specific probiotics in the treatment of multiple paediatric conditions. The outcome is improved patient-centered care, lowering of stress embedded in communication and optimal use of Probiotics. The program will use a pre-recorded simulation and an audience response system to engage the participants.
