| Naturopathic medicine is presented with an incredible opportunity through the Affordable Care Act. Under Section 2706, naturopathic physicians in licensed states are to be included in health insurance plans – but, practically speaking, only if we assertively educate state officials. Since each state is free to interpret the law as it sees fit, NDs will be covered by insurance – or not – based on officials’ understanding of what NDs do and how we do it.
